Overview
Create, implement and review complex scientific coding tasks for a rigorous STEM dataset used to train and evaluate frontier AI models.
Responsibilities
- Write scientific problem specifications with a main problem and at least 3 logically connected sub-problems that progressively lead to its solution. Implement verified reference solutions in Python with full unit-test coverage.
- Design tests that distinguish correct from incorrect model output. Run Tier 1 structure checks and Tier 2 quality rubrics on the central task platform.
- Revise tasks from QC feedback to meet Pass@K criteria across GPT, Gemini and Nemotron judges.
- Keep rework low and aim for consistent first-submission L1 approval. Join review, feedback and project standup calls during overlap hours.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Mathematics. Strong Python and scientific-computing experience.
- Write rigorous, well-posed scientific problems with clear constraints and expected outputs.
- Meet strict standards for well-posedness, discriminating tests, scientific accuracy and determinism.
- Prior experience in AI annotation, research or scientific writing. Familiarity with LLM evaluation frameworks or coding benchmarks.
- Experience with NumPy, SciPy, SymPy or domain-specific scientific tools. Published STEM research or academic project experience.
Engagement and pay
- Remote contractor/freelancer assignment without medical benefits or paid leave.
- 40 hours per week with 4 hours of PST overlap. Contract duration: 8 weeks. Candidate pay and start date are not stated.
