Overview
Contribute theoretical physics and numerical benchmarking to a research-driven customer AI-training project. Prior AI experience is not required; specialist domain knowledge is the focus.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex statistical-physics phenomena, especially replicated random-bond Ising/Ashkin-Teller models, the toric-code threshold and the Nishimori line.
- Provide documented solutions or critiques involving Kramers-Wannier duality, quenched disorder averaging, square-lattice self-duality and domain-wall free energy.
- Carry out advanced numerical work, particularly 4-state Potts simulations and interpretation.
- Identify, discuss and address noncontractible loop defects and related topological issues.
- Work as Solver, Auditor or Adjudicator according to experience and subfield strengths.
Preferred
- PhD or equivalent physics experience focused on statistical physics, quantum information or condensed matter theory.
- Hands-on application of Kramers-Wannier duality, quenched disorder averaging and square-lattice self-duality in research or projects.
- Proficiency in 4-state Potts numerical simulations and domain-wall free-energy analysis.
- Familiarity with topological quantum codes, especially the toric code and threshold phenomena.
Engagement and pay
- Part-time contractor, 5-10+ hours weekly. Fully flexible schedule accommodating after-hours and weekends.
- Advertised pay is $100-$200/hour.
Eligibility
- Open to candidates worldwide.
