Overview

Use substantial open-source software engineering experience to create, solve, review and validate AI-training tasks in repository exploration, debugging, architecture and code evaluation. Work spans front-end and back-end systems and translating complete coding builds between languages.

Responsibilities

  • Understand unfamiliar repositories; build, change and debug front-end and back-end components.
  • Follow data and execution through interfaces, services, libraries, APIs, databases and external dependencies. Reproduce issues and find their causes.
  • Implement fixes that respect the existing architecture and contribution rules. Write unit, integration, regression and end-to-end tests.
  • Assess AI-generated patches for correctness, completeness, security and maintainability.

Requirements

  • Have a public or otherwise verifiable GitHub profile and meaningful ownership of, or contributions to, open-source repositories.
  • Contributions must show engineering ability, rather than documentation-only edits, dependency bumps, formatting changes or typo fixes. Be ready to discuss repositories, pull requests, issues and code you authored.
  • Strong engineering experience in front-end, back-end, full-stack, systems, developer tools, infrastructure or another substantial technical area; experience with several programming languages and ability to modify unfamiliar codebases.

Preferred

  • Relevant languages include TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, Go, Rust, C++, C#, Ruby, PHP and other languages used in substantial open-source projects. Required Skills lists Python3, Java, Rust, basic C++, TypeScript and Go.

Engagement and pay

  • Contract work of about 15 hours per week, fully remote and open worldwide. Choose your working days and hours, including weekends if useful.
  • Apply and answer screening questions, then complete an AI interview lasting about 30 minutes and a hiring-manager review.
  • Payment is output-based, per task meeting project specifications; time per task depends on experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements apply. The amount per approved task is not stated.
  • The source also advertises an hourly range, quoted below, but its compensation section says payment is per task. No hourly rate is entered in the structured pay fields because these statements conflict.
  • Roles are typically filled within 48 hours. Candidates should be ready to start immediately and, if selected, begin tasks within 24-48 hours after onboarding.
  • Advertised hourly range: $100-$150/hour. A minimum number of tasks must be submitted each week.

Eligibility

  • Open to candidates worldwide.
