Overview

Build and review specialist computational chemistry, structural biology and drug-discovery problems for AI training and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Write demanding expert-level problems with unambiguous, verifiable solutions in computational chemistry, structural biology and drug discovery.
  • Assess AI answers for scientific correctness, rigor and reasoning depth, including subtle errors non-specialists could miss.
  • Create detailed rubrics and reference answers using primary research literature and established methods.
  • Apply expertise in molecular modelling and simulation, protein-structure prediction and design, virtual screening and docking, QSAR/ADMET models, and proteomics/metabolomics analysis.
  • Explain reasoning clearly in writing so other experts can follow and check it.
  • Meet quality requirements through iterative feedback and peer-review cycles.

Requirements

  • A PhD in Computational Chemistry, Structural Biology, Biophysics, Bioinformatics, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on research in an academic or industry laboratory; wet-lab experience is a plus.
  • Professional spoken and written English at C1 level or higher.

Preferred

  • Postdoctoral or pharma/biotech industry research in drug discovery or structural biology.
  • A strong publication record, especially first-author articles in relevant journals.
  • Molecular modelling and simulation using GROMACS, AMBER, NAMD, OpenMM and free-energy methods such as FEP/TI.
  • Structure prediction and design using AlphaFold, Rosetta, homology modelling and cryo-EM/X-ray crystallography interpretation.
  • Docking and virtual-screening tools such as AutoDock, Glide, Schrodinger Suite and MOE.
  • Cheminformatics with RDKit, QSAR/QSPR, ADMET prediction, fingerprinting and library design.
  • Proteomics/metabolomics using LC-MS/MS, MaxQuant, DIA/DDA workflows, PTM analysis and untargeted metabolomics.
  • Programming in Python, described by the source as required in practice, plus R, Bash or similar; machine learning for molecular properties, including GNNs and generative models, is a plus.
  • Benchmarking, model-evaluation or scientific-writing/review experience.
  • Ability to explain difficult scientific ideas precisely and clearly in writing.

Engagement and pay

  • Pay: $45-$90 per hour (USD).
  • Remote contractor. Weekly hours, engagement length and start date are not stated.

Eligibility

  • The source explicitly states Remote (Worldwide).
